The big news this week is the proposed rule from the Centers for Medicaid & Medicaid Services, which would boost payments by $310 million next year, expand the Home Health Value Based Purchasing Program to all states, recalibrate PDGM case-mix weights, change hospice surveys and much more. NAHC President Bill Dombi ran through some of the details in a webinar and we've got a summary of his thoughts for you here. And ICYMI, our original story on the proposal is here. We'll obviously be following along as it develops.

More information is emerging about Philips' recall of some of its respiratory equipment, with a new safety communication out this week from the Food and Drug Administration that encourages CPAP and BiPAP patients to ask their providers about continuing to use their devices if "the benefits outweigh the risks identified in the recall." In addition, AAHomecare sent a letter to the durable medical equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors (DMEMACs) asking them to keep reimbursing DME providers if patients continue to use their devices and more. You can read the letter here.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July. See you Monday!
