FY 2021 Budget May Expand Competitive Bidding

The president's proposed FY 2021 budget includes a provision that would expand the DME competitive bidding program to rural areas and base single payment amounts on the single highest winning bid amount. The same measures were proposed for 2020, but not adopted.

VA Addresses Payment Backlog

In a Senate hearing on Feb. 5, representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs discussed a backlog of 2.5 million unpaid claims for community care providers. The VA designed a plan of action for addressing and clearing the backlog.
