There has been a decline in referrals for sleep evaluation and many providers are seeing a drop in the number of patients. Fear of viral transmission can also influence a patient’s decision regarding sleep testing and treatment. However, good sleep is important to good health. CMS Clarifies Guidance for Hospice Care in Facilities
To offer flexibility during the health emergency, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has allowed hospice providers to provide virtual visits to residents of long-term care facilities. But new guidance seemed to suggest that hospice providers shouldn’t work with some patients if they can’t meet with them in person.
