Well, we have been waiting for official election results like all of you, and meanwhile the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States hit a record high. In all honesty, it feels like it’s been a very long week. 
 
On the up side, we got to attend Medtrade virtually this week—and the overall tone was pretty bullish for the industry. As Mark Higley, VGM's vice president for regulatory affairs said, “The demand is incredible … Our glass is more than half full. The epidemic is a glitch.” Read our coverage here and here
 
Some COVID-related news this week: More than 300 skilled nursing facilities that had outbreaks of the virus saw staff levels drop below 40% of last year’s numbers, according to an analysis by the Wall Street Journal. The newspaper also reported that stocks of N95 respirators and other masks are once again low. The Harvard Business Review recommends that essential workers should be given elastomeric N95 masks when regular ones are in short supply.
