JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 29, 2020)—Forcura, a health care technology company that enables safer patient care transitions along the care continuum, announced that its new artificial intelligence-enabled technology, Referral Automation with IQ, will help users rapidly identify and accept new patient referrals, eliminating an estimated two hours from clients’ typical referral workflows. Not only will post-acute providers benefit from operational cost savings, improved relationships with referring physicians, and increased cash flow, Forcura’s IQ technology will help patients transition more quickly and safely into their next phase of care.

Referral Automation with IQ uses machine learning to automatically identify and classify new referral documents received via fax in the Forcura platform. Patient demographic information is also extracted and auto-indexed, and can be matched with existing patients in the client’s electronic health record (EHR) system. This valuable feature prevents the creation of duplicate patient records. If no existing patient exists, users can create the patient within Forcura and send the record directly into the EHR to start the onboarding process. With more of the referral process automated, Forcura continues to satisfy market demands to convert documents to data and helps to minimize costly mistakes that can delay patient care or challenge data integrity.

“At Angels Care Home Health, we are passionate about giving our patients the right care at the right time, and we recognize the value of technology that allows us to accept and treat patients sooner,” says Tony Miller, Chief Operating Officer at Angels Care Home Health. “We gladly participated in Forcura’s IQ beta period precisely so we could see how much time we’ll save in onboarding new patients, and expect to see dividends as our staff accepts and delivers care to a growing patient population.”

“There could not be a better time to introduce this technology to the market,” says Annie Erstling, Chief Strategy Officer at Forcura. “At the start of the Covid-19 public health crisis, patients were forced to delay elective procedures. Now that hospitals are able to perform those services, the post-acute sector is beginning to see a surge not just of more patients, but potentially sicker people who will require their care. Our IQ technology will help expedite those care transitions and make a material difference for our clients like Angels Care Home Health, patients, and their loved ones.”

The Forcura platform allows post-acute care providers to manage the flow of patient information and documentation for all lines of business through seamless integration with EHRs. Forcura is committed to transitioning the post-acute industry from a document-intensive to data-driven segment of health care.
